Neill Blomkamp is back in his true element with Oats Studio, his recently launched independent film laboratory, meddling with experimental test films in the sci-fi, horror and fantasy realms.

Following the release of the first 21-minute alien invasion short, Rakka, starring Sigourney Weaver, Blomkamp is presenting the sophomore effort of his creative endeavor with Firebase, a time-warping sci-fi trip into The 'Nam, taking place during the Vietnam Conflict and following "American soldier 'Hines' through an ever deepening web of science fiction madness. The fabric of space-time literally beginning to bend around him."

Blomkamp's second volume of his weird workshop dropped today for free via the Oats Studios YouTube, Steam and Facebook channels.

Rakka has already racked up nearly 2.5 million views on YouTube, so apparently Blomkamp's little "idea incubator" is getting tremendous response.
