Brad Carter is a multi-talented musician, comedy writer and actor. He earned critical acclaim for appearing alongside Woody Harrelson and Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey in the Emmy®-nominated HBO series True Detective. He also appeared in a recurring role on the final season of the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy with Charlie Hunnam and Katey Segal. Additional television credits include It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Justified, True Blood, Criminal Minds, Castle, New Girl, The Mentalist, Longmire, and Perception.

On the big screen, Carter stars in the Johnny Depp vehicle Black Mass, from Warnes Bros.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Macon, Georgia, Carter earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Valdosta State University. He went on to hone his acting chops, studying at The Groundlings and ImprovOlympic. He has written stand-up comedy acts for notable entertainers including Fred Willard, Alan Thicke and Edie McLurg, and has performed his own original material at well-known Los Angelas comedy hotspots such as The Improv and The Comedy Store. 

Carter made national headlines in 2014, when he allowed himself to be filmed while undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation surgery in an effort to slow down the progression of a movement disorder called Essential Tremor. The video, which shows Carter playing the guitar during the seven-hour procedure, immediately went viral, garnering hundreds of millions of views worldwide. In 2014, he also released his debut, self-titled album.
