Defiance: Look Ahead to Season 3
Summertime's here, and you know what that means: Defiance is back! (Although Irisa and Nolan don't look like they're having too much fun in the sun up there.)
Yes, it's time to further the adventures of Nolan, Irisa, Amanda, Datak, Stahma, Rafe and the rest of your favorite denizens of 2047 (or maybe even 2048 by now) as they traverse and negotiate a world torn asunder by impromptu alien terraforming. There will be more inter-species romance, political conspiracy, intrigue, double-crosses, cold fire shootouts and roller chases galore, as well as some surprising (and sometimes shocking!) narrative twists and turns.
Here are some things to look forward to as we're mere days away from the premiere of Defiance Season 3.
- The Resurrection of Nolan & Irisa
When we last saw our favorite ass-kicking father-daughter dynamic duo, they were safe (-ish) and sound in a sleep pod aboard whatever remained of the good ship Kaziri. As they both get their own glaring close-ups in the first teaser for Season 3, we know they eventually wake up and get back in on the action … but who rescues them from nap time remains to be seen.
Oh, and here's that aforementioned first teaser.
- A New Enemy: General Rahm Tak
The guy making all those voiceover threats in the teaser is one of the main antagonists of Season 3: General Rahm Tak, the leader of the Votanis Collective. A brilliant and cunning Castithan, Tak is also something of a purist and a patriot (in, like, the craziest and most dangerous way possible): he's all for making Votans the dominant species on Earth and is prepared to kill every last human being to make that happen. And the next stop on his bloody campaign happens to be Defiance.
You can see him in action in the trailer below. Yeah, he's gonna be a handful.
- Operation: Offspring Rescue
When we last saw Alak Tarr, his wife Christie and their infant son Luke, they were being forced at gunpoint by Christie's cuckoo bird mama Pilar to go on an impromptu family road trip to some unknown destination. And when last we saw Christie's father, Rafe, and Alak's parents, Datak and Stahma, they were hitting that same road to find them and get them back.
Oh man, talk about drama. We can't wait to see how this turns out!
- All Hail the Omec
Until now, we've known of seven Voton races: Castithans, Irathients, Sensoth, Liberata, Gulanee, Volge and Indogene. Now, prepare to meet the Omec, who were once the overlords of all the others, represented by their leader, T'evgin, and his daughter, Kindzi. What kind of trouble will they be bringing to Defiance … and, indeed, to the entire Votan hierarchy? And how long before Nolan takes a swing at one or both of them?
Want more? Oh, we've got more. The cast of Defiance has plenty to say about what's going down in Season 3.
The wait's almost over. Defiance Season 3 premieres with a double episode on June 12 at 8/7c.
