Nolan loves his daughter enough to cover for her after she steals a terrasphere from E-Rep HQ. But when she spouts some malarkey about needing it to save Sukar's life, Papa Nolan feels it's time for some handcuffs. (Maybe he's a little jealous she's spending so much time with her other dad?)
Treasure Doll/Deirdre is doing everything she can to bust up the marriage of Alak and Christie. But the unfaithful husband loves his wife, and scorns his mistress. You know what they say about a woman scorned …
Berlin notices some bubbling, liquid, hot gulanite magma, which soon devours the very ground they stand on. Nolan, Irisa, and Berlin escape the mine collapse, but Amanda and Pottinger are trapped within - and Tennety is killed by falling rocks.
Alak apologizes for being a jerk at the Casti dress-up club and for being a gangster, and killing a dude. Christie forgives him for all of that and they do the Castithan ritual of forgiveness and make out. Notably, Alak forgets to mention his relationship with Treasure Doll.
While Nolan and Rafe are distracted trying to figure out how to save Amanda (and Tennety and Pottinger, if they have to), Irisa BREAKS HER OWN THUMBS to get out of the cuffs. She hops in the roller and rolls on out to manipulate Tommy into getting that awesome terrasphere she has her eye on.
Treasure Doll drops by to take Christie to lunch, and, oops! She dropped a hint to Alak that if he doesn't go back out with her, she'll tell Christie about their affair. Stahma overhears the little trollop and offers the revenge to Datak. But, his price - being her huuuuzzzband again - is too high. She'll do it herself.
Turns out the sabotage tool Nolan found was Rafe's, but placed there by Quentin - if he killed Tennety, the VC will give him his mom back! When Rafe asks for his son's help moving the rest of the stockpile, Quentin knocks his dad cold and frames him for the whole thing.
Nolan and Berlin decide to slide down the mine shaft together, and if that's code for some kind of sex act, we don't know what it means. What we do know is that Nolan's feelings for Amanda make him put a cease to more sex with Berlin.
With oxygen running thin, Pottinger insists that Amanda kill him so that she might live long enough for Nolan to save them. The lawkeeper arrives just after Pottinger loses consciousness/cops a feel on Amanda.
