Stone Town, on Pemba Island (part of the Zanzibar archipelago), was once known as a slave-trading center, providing shackled natives to buyers in the Middle East. The original whipping post, an old tree, used to discipline the salves before transport, remains today as tourist attraction - but it is also said to be a focal point for supernatural activity.
Local legends say that slaves were also turned into human mortar to help construct buildings in that town. Pemba Island is reputed to contain haunted ruins that the locals refuse to visit, and it is a considered a paranormal hotspot.
Josh and the team decide to try a touristy Vampire haunted house before the investigation and realize sometimes that's scarier than the real thing.
Josh talks about why sometimes slowing down during your travels is the best course of action.
Josh gives you a sneak peek as to what to expect from the Hanging Coffins investigation.
