Anthony Montgomery stars as Ensign Travis Mayweather, the young helmsman of the
Enterprise NX-01. A unique offspring of 22nd-century life, Mayweather is a "space boomer," meaning he was born and raised on spaceships. His upbringing makes him a talented pilot with an unparalleled instinct for space travel.
Montgomery's first experience with acting was during college, when he was invited to audition for a play. He got the part, pursued acting and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in performance theatre and drama from Ball State University in Indiana. Montgomery also performed stand-up comedy in Indianapolis and worked on the set of the film
Hard Rain as a background performer and production assistant. Before long, he moved to California and landed a role as the host of the television series
Awesome Adventures.
He played the recurring role of George Austin in the television series
Popular. His other television credits include performing sketch comedy on
The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, and guest-starring stints on
J.A.G.,
Frasier,
Resurrection Blvd.,
Charmed and the daytime drama
Passions. He also starred in the feature film
Leprechaun in the Hood.
On stage, he has appeared in productions of
Dutchman (which he also wrote),
Day of Absence,
Othello,
Much Ado About Nothing,
Working,
Rumors and
Oliver.
Montgomery was raised in Indianapolis and currently resides in Los Angeles. He enjoys diving, swimming, martial arts, motorcycling and singing.
