Memories define us and Eureka has some doozies. Tess designs "Storycatchers" to capture Eurekan's most important memories for a time capsule, the "Story Nest." While she persuades people at Cafe Diem to participate, Carter meets a very pregnant Allison at Global for birthing class. But the facility is about to undergo Sonic Cleaning and they must be sure everyone leaves the building. The sonic cleaner, Dr. Kinnison, finds Fargo working on Tess' computer and sends him packing. Meanwhile, Carter and Allison find a confused Dr. Bubay sitting in his lab. He has no recollection of his project, or of his lab partner, Dr. Ashe. When they find Dr. Ashe, she cannot remember Bubay, either. Carter notices a blinking Storycatcher in Ashe's pocket. Is there a connection? Henry examines the scientists and reports selective memory loss. Speculating that the Storycatchers might have caused it, Carter takes Allison to Tess's lab. Suddenly, the cleaning process begins. The security system locks them in. Their only hope of escape is getting a PDA signal to Kinnison. He gets the message at Cafe Diem but can't remember what it means.
While Kinnison sips his coffee in blissful ignorance, Zoe struggles to think of a memory worth recording. Henry shows her an example as he records his memory of what he was doing the day Carter and Zoe arrived in Eureka. In Tess' lab, Carter and Allison learn that the only recorded memory of Fargo shows him as a hero. They realize someone -- Fargo? -- has erased several parts of the Story Nest and erased people's memories in the process. Allison tries to reach Tess via the Story Nest, but suddenly begins to forget who she is. As she goes into labor, Carter floods her with memories of Eureka in a desperate attempt to help her focus on contacting Tess or Kinnison. If they fail, there may be no future for them , or for Eureka's newest citizen.
Wormholes start popping up all over, threatening to rip Eureka apart unless Carter can stop them.
