The second episode of Season 9 had the artists teaming up in pairs to create beautiful but deadly Sirens inspired by beautiful but deadly real-life sea creatures. While this was arguably a less difficult challenge than the Season 9 premiere's two-model alien-animal endeavor, the results weren't quite as outrageous and therefore not as memorable ... though there were most definately some impressive beauty makeups on display.

Season 9, Episode 2: "Siren Song"

Top Looks (Judges):
Kevon & Meg (Textile Cone Snail, Top Team; Winner: Meg)
Brittany & Nora (Flabellina Nudibranch)

Our Top Looks:

  1. Jordan & Jasmine (Yellow Boxfish)

This was a Safe look for the judges, though we found Jordan & Jasmine's Yellow Boxfish-inspired Siren to be the best example of the "beautiful but deadly" angle of the challenge. Her come-hither physicality mixed with oh so many sharp edges makes her any sailor's dream/nightmare.

  2. Ricky & Ben (Blue Seaslug)

Another Safe look for the judges, Ricky & Ben's Blue Seaslug-inspired Siren had a delightful "Disney villain" look to her, complete with elaborate wardrobe and grand gestures. We could see her being the primary antagonist of a future Little Mermaid adventure ... or the star of any Julie Taymor stage show.
