Lois Burwell was born and raised in North London, where she began her film career. She first worked on music videos and student films while studying her craft. Her big break came when she was asked to run the make-up department for Bill Forsyth's Gregory's Girl. Her film work includes The Princess Bride, Legend, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Fifth Element, Highlander, Mona Lisa and War of the Worlds. She won an Academy Award for her work on Braveheart. Lois lives in California with her husband, five hens and two horses.
