    A native of Puerto Rico, Dancer Adolfo Barreto started his career on the island at the age of 17, having the opportunity to work for numerous Latin and international artists as well as on TV commercials, music videos, musical theater and choreographer for important events such as Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard Awards. He decides to move to Las Vegas in 2005, working for the dance company Havana Nights and starting in shows like Raw Talent (Hotel Sahara), The King of Rock and Show in the Sky (Hotel RIO) and most recently Vega the Show at the Planet Hollywood Hotel. Hand in hand with his dance career, Adolfo decided to pursue his other passion - makeup artistry. As a graduate of the prestigious L Makeup institute and Cinema Makeup School, Adolfo now shares his love of makeup as a beauty, theatrical and special effects artist and instructor. His favorite movies with special effects are Friday the 13th, Gremlins, Little Monster, The Exorcist, MIB, Mrs. Doubtfire and Labyrinth.

    Outgoing, ambitious and free-spirited, Alana Rose Schiro made quite an impression when she was a cast member in the third season of Face Off, and not just because she was the youngest contestant ever. Growing up in New York has inspired Alana to be fashion forward with all of her creatures: call it "Creature Couture." Alana's inspirations range from special effects wizard Steve Wang to Lady Gaga, Jim Henson and fashion designers Alexander McQueen and Christian Siriano. Since appearing on the show, Alana has started a business selling her signature "Rotten Roses." She is back for the new season because she thinks the new skills she's developed in the last year working as a makeup artist and foam fabricator will help her do even better on Face Off. Her favorite movies with special effects are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook and Hocus Pocus.

  • Eddie Holecko

    Since early youth, Eddie has shown great passion for the art of cinema. He studied practical and makeup effects in high school in Berea, Ohio (Berea High School), where he enrolled in a special effects course taught by instructor Jim Bycznski. He took the course for three years, learning several practical effects techniques. Holecko next enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia to study Visual Effects. Eddie is an artist who enjoys all mediums but specializes in sculptor, digital modeler and character design, and hopes to one day become a visual effects supervisor for entertainment. Ambitious and competitive, Eddie is inspired by Tim Burton, and his creations often have a Burtonesque quality. His favorite movies with special effects are An American Werewolf in London and Predator.

  • Eric Zapata

    Age: 23

    Eric Zapata made it through the first eight rounds of Face Off's fourth season and he doesn't plan to go home until he's won the season five title. He credits the lessons he learned on the show with giving him "what it takes now to really let go and allow myself to be more fearless and creative in the competition." Still one of the youngest competitors on the cast, Eric has amassed an impressive resume as a makeup artist. Right out of school, he landed a job working with prolific makeup artist Robert Kurtzman; that led to Eric's dream job on the comedy/horror feature John Dies at the End. Now that he's back on Face Off, Eric is ready to challenge himself to achieve his goal of winning. His favorite movie with special effects is Altered States.

  • Frank Ippolito

    Frank Ippolito was a formerly nerdy kid from Cleveland, Ohio, who hung out in the basement and made monsters, inspiring his true calling in special effects artistry. Thirteen years ago, he moved to Los Angeles to turn his passion into a profession, and four years ago he was in the first season of Face Off. He now owns his own F/X shop and has racked up some notable feature film credits; he recently collaborated with Danny DeVito on the horror film St. Sebastian's. Still possessed of a passionate attitude and a no-nonsense style, he hopes a second go-round on Face Off will allow him to show more of what he is capable of. His favorite movie with special effects is John Carpenter's The Thing.

  • Laney Parkhurst

    Laney has been doing makeup since the age of 17, when she used to work in a family owned haunted attraction. Laney loves design and fabrication the most, and is accomplished in prosthetic application. Although, initially, she wanted to work in a morgue applying makeup, Laney attended the Cinema Makeup School, and upon graduation was hired at Magee FX, located in Sun Valley, CA, where she did seaming, casting and fabricating to create life-sized aliens, predators, werewolves and howlings and various film projects. Currently, Laney is a freelance makeup artist and spends much of her time on tour with Marilyn Manson. She describes her style as "cute and creepy," and says she is "shy, strange and bubbly." Her favorite movie with special effects is Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

  • Laura Tyler (Season 5 winner)

    If anything, Laura has become an even more competitive and passionate contestant since being a cast member on the third season of Face Off. She returns for the new season armed with the double-barreled reputation for being an excellent makeup artist and knowledgeable connoisseur of pop culture and cult classics. For the past year, since being on the show, she has used her home base in Orlando, FL, to secure freelance makeup work. She has worked at Universal Studios', Sea World, and has recently begun working for Ripley's Believe it or Not's international warehouse, painting and creating wax figures and oddities for their museums around the world. Her goal, besides winning this new season of Face Off, is to develop her skills enough to be on par with the show's judges so that she may one day work beside them on major motion pictures. Her favorite movie with special effects is Predator.

  • Lyma Millot

    Lyma was born and raised in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. While in Mexico, she worked for a company that created body parts for the medical industry. Lyma was also a dentist for five years while living in Mexico. Lyma has earned several accolades for her work, including first place in IMATS 2012-Beauty and Fantasy Face Art, first place at the Face and Body Art International Convention in 2009, and first place in the World Body Painting Championship for Professional Face Paint.

  • Miranda Jory

    Age: 23

    The youngest member of the cast for the second season of Face Off, Miranda’s passion and skill for special effects makeup makes her a determined competitor. After attending Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, she freelanced at several SFX lab to work on independent films and was a production assistant on the Mystique Make-up team on X-men First Class. She also competed in the IMATS Battle of the Brushes competitions, winning second place for Beauty/Fantasy at IMATS Los Angeles and first place in both the Beauty/Fantasy and the Character/Prosthetics student competitions at IMATS Toronto in 2010. Miranda is eager to return to Face Off and hopes to further showcase her talents. The artists who have inspired her the most are Steve Wang, Jordu Schell, Rick Baker and Dick Smith.

  • RJ Haddy

    Robert "RJ" Haddy's goal when he was cast in season two of Face Off was to give his career a push so that he could quit teaching high school and work full time on his art. Mission accomplished. These days, RJ works full time creating special effects and running an e-commerce site selling airbrush equipment, including his own Shadow line of brushes. Inspired by special effects masters like Rick Baker, Jim Henson, Stan Winston, Greg Cannom and others, and by being selected as the Fan Favorite in season two, RJ is back for the new season of Face Off. He hopes that his new confidence and refined techniques will propel him to a win this season. He'd like to use the champion's prize money to build up his airbrush business, and also to allow his mother to retire. His favorite movies with special effects are Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Little Shop of Horrors, Star Wars, Batman (1989), Beetlejuice and Gremlins.

  • Rick Prince

    Age: 38
    Hometown/Residence: Nashville, Tennessee
    Occupation: Owner of Malice in Mind Laboratories

    Rick began his career at a local puppet shop where he worked for over 10 years creating characters for Sesame Street and for theme parks such as Disney, Busch Gardens, and Dollywood. Seeking to further his special effects makeup skills, Rick started his own company, Malice in Mind FX Laboratory, located in Nashville, TN. His company creates live interactive art such as the Prowl mobile suit for Transformers Universe, full zombie makeups for the Nashville Zombie Walk, wireless DMX controlled stage tornadoes for Lil Twist, as well as characters and live show set ups for conventions including Comic Con-New York. Rick hopes to win Face Off to show the world his passion for special effects and why he loves what he does. His influences include Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials, The Dark Crystal, and Clive Barker's Weaveworld. His love of anatomy led him to get an accurate anatomical tattoo of his spine created from a full X-ray of his entire back. Rick is a single father with joint custody of his daughter Tea. He was a firefighter, an organ donor processor, and served in the US Air Force.

  • Roy Wooley

    Age: 47
    Occupation: Special Make-up Effects Artist
    Hometown: Goodspring, Alabama
    Residence: Tucker, GA
    Previous Appearance: Season 3

    Roy Wooley never dreamed of being a special make-up effects artist when he grew up in rural Alabama; it wasn't the kind of work folks around there pursued. But once he saw American Werewolf in London, he was hooked, and his career path was set. Work in the haunted house business lead him to season 3 of Face Off, which in turn led to movie work; his most recent projects have been working on the horror features Hell Hole and Copii: The First Entry. Still, he's back for the new season, in part to showcase his growing skills and with the goal of making it to the very end this time. He hasn't entirely left haunted houses behind either. In a side business, he's designed a line of prosthetics and props for the haunted house industry that are now in production. His favorite movie with special effects remains American Werewolf in London.

  • Samantha Allen

    Age: 27

    Occupation: Makeup Artist at Six Flags

    Since she's extremely driven and motivated, when Samantha sets out to do something, it will get accomplished no matter what. When she was growing up, her family had an extreme love of Halloween and always took it to the next level, which she credits as the main inspiration for her career path. With determination and drive, she worked her way through school in order to follow her lifelong passion. In her work, she enjoys making her creatures look believable and as realistic as possible. Samantha has a thick skin and does not offend easily, and sometimes doesn't understand when others are more sensitive. Samantha is a fan of older movies with special effects, including The Lost Boys, Creep Show and The Evil Dead.

  • Scott Ramp

    Age: 52

    Occupation: SFX Makeup Artist, Owner of The Scream Team

    Scott has been the head makeup creator at Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest for the past 21 years. He also owns his own makeup company, The Scream Team, selling professional quality foam latex Halloween appliances around the globe. His company was the first to sell foam-latex prosthetics to the general public, which has contributed to his longtime and loyal customer base. When starting his creative process, Scott prefers to begin with clay rather than illustrating his ideas. He draws inspiration from artists such as Dick Smith and the late Richard Snell, who pushed him to expand his theatre makeup skills into special effects and prosthetics. His favorite movies featuring SFX are An American Werewolf in London and Amadeus. In addition to special effects, he enjoys singing, running marathons, theatre, history, directing plays and politics.

  • Steve Tolin

    Steve has loved special effects since childhood and has practiced his craft in one way or another for most of his life. In high school, his decision to pursue special effects was solidified when he was selected to attend the WV Governor's School for the Arts. Steve graduated Dean's list from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2000, and has acquired most of his professional knowledge from running his own studio these past 13 years. His passion and talent for the field also won him a Joseph Jefferson Award in Chicago for Outstanding Special Effects. Steve is a married father of two daughters and enjoys practicing martial arts in his spare time. His favorite movies with special effects are Harry and the Hendersons, Gremlins, Dark Crystal and Labyrith.

  • Tate Steinsiek

    Age: 31

    A native mid-westerner who now lives in Brooklyn, Bryan "Tate" Steinsiek has long had a bit of a dual personality. From his father, Tate developed a life-long passion for the rough and tumble of Mixed Martial Arts fighting. From his mother, he developed an artistic streak, which is what drives his work as a special F/X makeup artist. His recent work includes designing and creating work based on the work of Clive Barker and the horror author's Seraphim Films company. A finalist on the first season of Face Off, Tate is back this season because he loves the competition that is at the heart of the show, and because he believes that in the few years since he last appeared on Face Off he has developed skills that more than match previous winners. His favorite movie with special effects is An American Werewolf in London.
