Devin, Jael, and Ben look into possible paranormal activity on the USS North Carolina where investigator Mike Roberts caught a misty, skeletal image on the deck with his still camera, and an image of a ghostly figure moving through the mess hall where a sailor fell to his death years ago.

As the team looks for natural answers to the mess hall mystery, they have Devin walk through the space, then they postulate that another investigator may have glanced their flashlight at an angle that looked like an apparition. As they flit through possibilities, they hear a loud crash, and realize that their DSLR camera has been knocked by an unknown force over the lip of a shelf and onto the floor. They realize that the original image was caused by a flashlight bouncing around the room, but because of the thrown camera, they realize they must do a nighttime investigation.

But first, they must attempt to replicate the shot from the still camera. Once on the deck, they replicate the foggy conditions of the original evening with a fog machine, then move the camera as they shoot for a blurry effect. Their shot misses the skeletal form of the original, so they entertain a hoax possibility, and truss up a plastic skeleton in a dark cloth. It's better, but doesn't have the disembodied look. Suddenly, enlightenment hits Devin. He sees one of the massive guns and realizes that it can rotate. They turn it to face the opposite direction, and voila! They see a simple case of mistaken identity. Now...on to the investigation.

The most striking moment comes when Ben conducts and EVP and asks the ghost of the dead sailor if he was the one who dropped the camera. Instead of an auditory response, they see a surveillance camera rotate of its own accord! The documents they researched have normal explanations, but something is afoot on the USS North Carolina. The case is closed.

Jael, Bill, and Lanisha seek an explanation for a video shot in Warren, Michigan of a UFO near a construction site. The video looks so much like an aircraft that they decide to fly a crop duster over the site, but the shape doesn't match, and the middle light on the object in the original video looks like a spotlight, while theirs does not.

It could be an aerial drone with a spotlight on a servo motor. They launch it into the air, but it's still a little off. The next logical possibility is that a crane operator affixed lights to a truss that was being moved. With Austin coordinating the movements from the ground and a professional operating the crane, they manage a sweep that is a 90% match - enough to say that the object has a normal, Earth-bound explanation. They close the case.
