Location: The Philippines
This week, the team journeyed the distance to the Philippines to investigate the haunted Clark Hospital. Once occupied during WWII by the Imperial Japanese army and then seized in 1945 by the Americans, numerous soldiers have died in the hospital and their souls have yet to leave the grounds. To date, security guards of the buidling affirm that they've seen a full-bodied man with a skull for a face walking through the halls. Others attest to hearing voices, footsteps and sounds similar to crying heard in and around the pediatric ward of the building.
To find whether or not these occurrences for fact or fluke, Barry and Robb began their EVP session in the basemen. While asking questions during the session, both investigators heard footsteps and three knocks on the wall. Following the footsteps they were lead down a dark corridor of the basement yet they were unable to see anyone.
Meanwhile Angela and Joe were conducting their own EVP session in another section of the hospital. During their research, Joe thought he heard a whisper, and then as Angela tried to investigate it, he claimed to have seen a face in the dark room. Yet neither investigator could prove it.
In order to find more contextual evidence for the case, Dustin and Barry continued to examine the hospital by conducting an EVP session on the second floor. Ironically, like Joe Chin, Barry also claimed to have seen a face near the corridor of the room they were in. Then, things got more personal as Barry felt a sudden tug near his ear. With their adrenaline rising and growing hungry for answers, both investigators moved their search to the basement. Using the thermal imaging camera Dustin witnessed a white figure of an apparition stick it's head out and duck behind a pillar.
Feeling as though they had collected a sufficient amount of evidence, the team headed back to Command Central to debunk their evidence. After deliberating and reviewing their findings they deemed that the hospital is haunted. They used the evidence they gathered from their EVP sessions and images that they were able to pick up on the thermal imaging camera to support their statements.
For their second case, the investigators went to the Diplomat Hotel, which was first used as a monastery, then a sanitarium and a refugee torture camp for the Japanese. Workers and tourists claim to have seen the dark figure of a man who is completely black — with no visible face. Allegedly this man roams the grounds so often that many have grown accustomed to seeing him. Visitors of the hotel also claim to have seen the full-bodied apparition of various women in the Garden Chapel.
Female? Male? Or Farce? To get to the bottom of all the ghost legends, the team began their research right away. Robb and Dustin started with an EVP session on the second floor. And while asking the apparition questions they continued to hear sounds, but when they went looking to see who or what was there with them, they were unable to find anything.
Hoping to get more contextual evidence, Brandy and Angela went down into one of the underground chambers to conduct an EVP session. And although they weren't able to see anything more than a few creepy spiders along the walls, they did hear shuffling noises around them. Then, to get the best possible footage, the group attached a camera to a long shaft and stuck it down into the hole of the second chamber. Shortly after this, the group took their evidence back to Command Central to review.
When looking over the evidence more clearly at headquarters, the team was able to conclude that the space is not haunted. They were able to use enough evidence to find that what many of the people were experiencing were hallucinations due to their high sensitivity to the radiation caused by the massive cell phone tower near the area. This also explains why the Ghost Hunters found such high EMF readings in certain parts of the estate. Furthermore, the sounds and noises they heard were caused by an unknown visitor who'd taken up residence in one of the rooms of the building. All of which lead the team to realize that most of the occurrences that happened at this particular location were caused by chance and not by paranormals.
