At the age of 14, Q'orianka Kilcher emerged into the front ranks of young actors with her portrayal of Pocahontas opposite Colin Farrell and Christian Bale in Terrence Malick's The New World, a performance for which she won the National Board of Review's best breakthrough performance of 2006 and the 2006 Alma Award for best Latin American actress in a feature film, as well as numerous nominations and rave reviews. Q'orianka was also the first inspiration for James Cameron's vision in creating the character of "Neytiri" in Avatar. Cameron later gifted her his first drawing of "Naytiri".
In early 2008, Q'orianka established iQ Films, through which she is producing several feature film and documentary projects with an interactive edge, most notably The Power Of Few starring Christopher Walken and Christian Slater. She is a cast member of the starring ensemble for the first the History Channel's The People Speak film series, and is part of Voices advisory board. When not acting time, she is a singer-songwriter, and actively engaged in a number of environmental and human rights campaigns.
