Created by Scottish novelist J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan is a mischievous boy who can fly and never grows old. Pan first appeared in the 1902 novel The Little White Bird, but his most famous appearance was in the 1911 novel Peter and Wendy, in which he was described as a beautiful boy "clad in skeleton leaves and the juices that flow from trees." Capable of flight and seemingly without fear, Peter epitomizes brash youth and a spirit of adventure.
