Syfy Kids is the exciting new venture from Syfy, the network that brings you the best in imagination-based entertainment. Created for audiences aged 2 to 17, Syfy Kids will deliver new content and experiences across multiple platforms, including television, video games, and web-based media.
To kick off Syfy Kids with a bang, Syfy has teamed up with two of the most exciting organizations working in youth-oriented media. Leading interactive entertainment developer THQ will be collaborating with Syfy Kids to extend its properties beyond the world of video gaming. The first title to be featured will be the quirky, colorful de Blob ®, which presented the adventures of a lovable, yet edgy title character seeking to bring color to a monochrome world. de Blob ® is one of the breakout titles on the Nintendo Wii and one of the most acclaimed games of 2009.
In addition, Syfy Kids will be working with Worldwide Biggies Inc. and animation giant Albie Hecht (Spongebob Squarepants, Blue's Clues) to produce Dr. What, a new property designed to live in the worlds of animation, gaming and beyond. A mystery-adventure series, Dr. What will focus on the world of a thrill-seeking inventor whose risky experiments take an unexpected turn, and will be introduced through six animated shorts that will premiere on both Syfy and Syfy.com. Viewers will then be able to play out their own epic Dr. What adventure through Worldwide Biggies' proprietary GameToon technology.
With creative characters, exciting adventures and multiple avenues with which to explore them, Syfy Kids will bring a young audience's imagination to life in a whole new way.
