One of the most divisive figures in television, Lost’s Damon Lindelof, is heading back to the small screen for a new mystery series.
Dubbed The Leftovers, the series follows a suburban community in the wake of a Rapture-like event, which sees a percentage of humanity vanish in the blink of an eye. It’s a nice setup, and HBO seems to be putting some weight behind the project. Plus, like him or not, Lindelof is a proven commodity in the genre. Here's hoping he sticks the ending this time around.
The series stars Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler, Christopher Eccleston, Amy Brenneman, Michael Gaston and Ann Dowd. The series is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Tom Perotta.
Check out the first teaser trailer below, which helps sell the premise and set the stage for the series:
The series is set to premiere June 15 at 10 p.m.
