That long-rumored CGI film based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' (John Carter of Mars) classic jungle tale Tarzan is still getting made. How do we know? We finally have our first look at the lush, action-packed trailer.
Directed by Reinhard Klooss, the mo-cap film was written by Jessica Postigo (The Mortal Instruments) and Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs). Voice actors include Kellan Lutz (Twilight) as Tarzan and Spencer Locke (Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Jane.
Despite the fact that we're living in a post-Avatar world, the effects look a little ... dated, to say the least.
They feel like an awkward cross between kiddie CGI and photo-realistic, which doesn't really work on screen.
The film has yet to lock down a U.S. distributor, though it's set to open next summer in international markets.
