Today marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek: Voyager. On Jan. 16, 1995, the fourth live-action show in the Star Trek franchise introduced us to a new crew, a new adventure and a new captain, the first woman to command a ship for a series: Capt. Kathryn Janeway, played by actress Kate Mulgrew.
Like the two Star Trek series before it, Voyager lasted seven seasons, and by the time we said goodbye it had left its unique mark in the franchise. Actor Tim Russ, who portrayed Vulcan chief of security Tuvok, told Blastr, "It seems Voyager's legacy will live on for a very long time."
"I think Voyager has had a significant impact on the [Star] Trek world in that the concept harkens back to the original series -- 'exploring new worlds and new civilizations.' Based on our storyline, we were traveling through uncharted space, and thus encountering new alien races and phenomena," he said.
The new situations Voyager faced while lost in the Delta Quadrant led to some amazing episodes throughout its seven-year run and makes it hard to choose just a few favorites. To honor the anniversary, though, we decided to look back and pick some of the top episodes worth a rewatch from the series. Here are 10 episodes that you can't miss, including a favorite from Russ himself!
