Frank Miller, creator of the comic on which Zack Snyder's insanely successful 300 was based, has told the L.A. Times that he's working on a follow-up to be titled Xerxes.
While the $450 million-grossing 300 depicted the Battle of Thermopylae, Miller says of Xerxes, which is set 10 years before 300, "It's the battle of Marathon through my lens." He goes on to say that "I've finished the plot and I'm getting started on the artwork."
Miller also indicated that Zack Snyder is interested in adapting Xerxes.
But can they pull it off? In the time since 300 came out, Miller made the really dreadful The Spirit and Snyder made Watchmen, which disappointed many. Can these two catch lightning in a bottle again, and inspire millions of guys to do lots of crunches so they get those rad Spartan abs?
