How long have we been waiting for Cabin in the Woods, the horror movie produced and co-written by Joss Whedon and directed by Drew Goddard? In all honesty, not as long as the creators of Cabin themselves.
The movie has been delayed twice, first by the 3-D conversion process and then by MGM's bankruptcy ... with no release date in sight.
The Cabin in the Woods Twitter feed recently released two posters that highlight our (and their) frustration. They're funny. We're laughing in a bitter way.
And better yet, Worst Previews reveals a little about the plot. It turns out there's more to the titular cabin than meets the eye:
The new film will revolve around two white collar characters who lure five college-type kids to a cabin in the woods. The cabin is rigged with carefully selected props, gimmicks and cameras that allow the overseers to spy and interfere with the kids. The mysterious organization behind this scheme is doing this in order to hold a sweepstakes on just how everything will pan out.
Take a look at the posters below (the film's original poster is above), and let us know what you think about Cabin in the Woods moldering on a shelf somewhere in the MGM vaults:
