Ever since we were putting goldfish bowls on our heads as kids (oh come on, you know you did that) we've dreamed about the joy of strapping on our very own space helmets and blasting off. And even if none of us can be astronauts, we'll always have the movies, as this awesome space-helmet supercut reminds us.
Courtesy of editor Keith Melton, this video, titled "Helmet Oddity," is three and a half minutes of pure sci-fi joy. Set to a clever remix of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" and David Bowie's "Space Oddity," it takes us through flicks ranging from 1929's Woman in the Moon to 2010's Space Battleship Yamato.
And it's not just a sci-fi party. We've also got historical dramas like The Right Stuff and Apollo 13 along for the ride next to Moon, Alien and, of course, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Check out the video and see how many flicks you recognize on your own, then head to the YouTube page and read the description to see the list of every film in order of its appearance.
