Agent Carter executive producers remain open to series revival

Not gonna lie: Agent Carter’s cancellation still hurts. A lot. The Marvel series was axed last year after two critically acclaimed (but low-rated) seasons aired from 2015-2016 on ABC.

Despite the fact that former showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas are hard at work on their new ABC comedy series Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, the Agent Carter dynamic duo would be down for a series revival with Captain America’s best girl, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), if given the chance.

“Yes, we would do Agent Carter tomorrow, at the same time as this show. I love that show,” Fazekas told IGN during this summer’s Television Critics Association press tour. This is sweet music to my ears, even though I think the chances of a revival are still slim to none. But the fact that Butters and Fazekas are open to continuing the show is encouraging, if Marvel ever does come calling.

Although Marvel hasn’t announced anything concrete concerning the character, a recent visit from Hayley Atwell (who is still lobbying for more Agent Carter) with Marvel Studios’ co-president Louis D’Esposito has set the Interweb ablaze with speculations as to whether this means we’ll see Peggy return to the MCU in either Ant-Man and the Wasp or Captain Marvel (or both!).
