The brief but beautiful run of Agent Carter will live on forever in its fans’ hearts, but more practically, it will live on Hulu as it joins a plethora of new additions to the streaming service. The Hayley Atwell-led exploration of life after Captain America in the ‘40s was axed in May of last year after a two-season run that found it constantly teetering on the brink of cancellation due to low ratings.
Now its streaming rights belong exclusively to Hulu.
While there are rumors, as reported by Bleeding Cool, that this is not the end-all-be-all for the action-packed prequel show, especially in light of Marvel’s new teen mutant show Runaways finding some buzz on the streaming service, chances of a revival are more in line with Bucky Barnes’ arm. Meaning, yeah, not great.
Bolstering Hulu’s genre TV selection alongside Agent Carter are the first two seasons of demon-hunting Freeform show Shadowhunters and the entire run of oddball crime drama Perception. The latter features a schizophrenic neuropsychiatrist, while the former features angel/demon hybrids, so if the 1940s lack enough excitement, there remain plenty of new additions to the Hulu roster to entice.
Other additions for the next month include the RoboCop films, the fourth season of animated cult favorite Steven Universe, and the first season of wacko X-Men show Legion.
