Looks like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return earlier than expected. In the immortal words of Dum Dum Dugan: Wahoo!

When Marvel announced its Inhumans TV series would premiere in the fall, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. missing in action from the schedule, fans braced themselves for a long wait, not expecting to see Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team back in action until January.

Well, ABC Chief Channing Dungey had some great news to share during the Television Critics Association’s press tour yesterday, saying:  “It’s going to come on right after Inhumans. As soon as the eight episodes of Inhumans is done, then S.H.I.E.L.D. will begin.”

Marvel’s Inhumans will debut for a limited two-week engagement in IMAX theaters on Sept. 1 before premiere on ABC (with exclusive content, no less) on Friday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. Which means, S.H.I.E.L.D. *should* (never been good at math) return around late November.

Dungey also revealed that thanks to the Inhumans miniseries’ run, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s 22-episode fifth season will "mostly" air without interruption. Are you looking forward to the return of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
