Amazon scores series adaptation of Garth Ennis' The Boys

Hunting down another comic project in the wake of the warm reception for their AMC hit, Preacher, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have targeted another Garth Ennis title, The Boys.

Word first spread of the producing duo's interest in the book centered on a CIA police force that watches over unstable superheroes back in 2015, and now Amazon has taken the bait and is ordering up a full screenplay for a future TV series adaptation.

Written by Ennis with art by Darick Robertson, The Boys was originally published by Wildstorm and Dynamite from 2006-2012. It chronicled the brutal adventures of Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, Mother’s Milk, The Frenchman, and the Female as they monitor and suppress rogue and corrupted superheroes, descending into post-9/11 paranoia and serious political themes in its bloody, hard-hitting pages.

The Boys is being scripted by Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless, Revolution) with Rogen and Goldberg penciled in to direct.

Are you on board with The Boys and do you think this superhero elimination squad could make a splash as a new Amazon series?
