Apparently, not all the blood on The Walking Dead is fake.
Last week, we brought you an entertaining clip of actor Norman Reedus on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Reedus, who plays Daryl on The Walking Dead, was sharing a story about how Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who plays Negan on the show) was not looking forward to a fight he had to shoot with Andrew Lincoln (aka Rick Grimes). Apparently, Morgan had good reason to worry about that scene.
As Morgan revealed to Howard Stern this morning, that scene left him with a real-life broken nose. You can check out the audio clip below:
“I knew immediately, when the scene started and the cameras started rolling, that we were too close to each other. We’re toe-to-toe," Morgan told Stern. "I punch, he punches, and neither of us moves. We’re both taking punches, you know what I mean? And on like the second punch, he just cracked me on the bridge of my nose. I think I dropped to a knee. But immediately, when you get hit in the nose, your eyes water. I stood up and I was like ‘Uh, dude.’ He was more upset than I was!”
For those of you wondering, the scene in question took place during the midseason finale, "How It's Gotta Be." Negan is waiting for Rick to come home and the two get into a fight. It was a solid scene, which certainly felt real (for good reason!), and included Negan throwing Rick through a window. Hopefully that made for good revenge!
