The evil doll from The Conjuring is back! Warner Bros. has just unveiled the first full spooky trailer for Annabelle: Creation.
The trailer was unveiled during WonderCon earlier today, during a panel for New Line Cinema’s upcoming horror film produced by Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan. A three-minute clip was also shown to the assembled audience, but this one hasn't been released ... at least just yet.
A prequel to 2014’s Annabelle, the movie directed by Lights Out helmer David F. Sanberg from a script by Annabelle scribe Gary Dauberman stars Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), Lulu Wilson (Ouija: Origin of Evil) Philippa Coulthard (After the Dark), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Samara Lee (The Last Witch Hunter), Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and relative newcomer Tayler Buck.
While I loved The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 (and Annabelle the doll freaked me the hell out), I sadly wasn’t a huge fan of Annabelle. However, from the looks of this trailer, I'm crossing my fingers Annabelle: Creation will hit that horror sweet spot. So close the lights, dig in, and chime in with your thoughts below.
In “Annabelle: Creation,” several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Annabelle: Creation will open in theaters on August 11.
