Anne Rice wants your help casting Lestat for that Vampire Chronicles TV series

As some of you may already know, Paramount Television and Anonymous Content are working on a TV series based on Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles (there are 11 books total) and the author herself is seeking your help in finding the perfect Lestat.

The author took to Facebook last night asking fans to chime in with their personal favorites to play the iconic role of Lestat de Lioncourt, the centuries-old sexy vampire antihero from her books.

The role was previously played by Tom Cruise in Interview With the Vampire back in 1994, and by Stuart Townsend in 2002’s Queen of the Damned. Anne Rice’s son, writer Christopher Rice, will pen the TV series and serve as executive producer alongside his mother. Here’s what Anne Rice wrote:

So far, fans have answered in droves (there are over 500 replies), throwing some interesting (and less interesting) names into the ring including: Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful), Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove, It), Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot, The Twilight Saga), Evan Peters (X-Men: Apocalypse), Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Apocalypse), Toby Regbo (Reign, The Last Kingdom), Alexander Vlahos (Versailles), Austin Butler (The Shannara Chronicles), Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and more.
