In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Oscar hostess let slip that the character she'll be playing in the final chapter in Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader trilogy will, indeed, be a kitten with a whip.
Both Nolan and Warner Brothers have been curiously tight-lipped about whether Selina Kyle will actually become the morally challenged jewel thief who becomes the focus of Batman's attention, even though it seems a foregone conclusion to everyone with a pulse.
But during an interview that aired yesterday, Hathaway talks about the perils of waiting to hear if she'd been cast in The Dark Knight Rises:
"I was waiting to hear back to hear if I'd been cast as Catwoman, and my manager called me and said, 'Are you sitting down?' and I just go, oh my god, here it comes."
While the call was an offer to host the Oscars, not the call from Nolan's camp, Hathaway's dropping of the C-word seems to intimate that she will be hitting the Gotham night with an eye toward misbehaving after all.
