Anthony Daniels on Carrie Fisher in Last Jedi: 'You will see her as you’ve never seen before'

Carrie Fisher has been gone over a year now, but she’s certainly not forgotten—not by fans and not by her former castmate, Anthony Daniels. Daniels, who appeared at Fan Expo Canada this weekend, spoke about the woman behind the princess-general.

According to Space.ca, Daniels told the crowd, “The magic of the movies is you will see her as you’ve never seen before. The other day when I was putting my voice back on [The Last Jedi], I had completely forgotten what we had shot. Suddenly in the footage that I’m watching, there she is, living forever. That’s movies for you.”

Of course, he doesn’t explain what he means by “never seen before.” Maybe it’s just me, but I’m hoping that General Leia will be using the Force. We know she’s Force sensitive. But it would be terrific to see her go full-on Force Pull. (Not Force Choke. Force Choke is for Darksiders.)

In addition, Daniel spoke about a famous quirk of the famous Fisher: “You would be amazed how many shots which she’s in have a can of Coke hidden somewhere, and the crew were desperate not to feature it.”

Daniels also spoke well of another former castmate, Ahmed Best, who played the famously disliked Jar Jar Binks: “Terrific mover. Terrific, inventive brain. Highly intelligent. … I hugely admire Ahmed Best … and Jar Jar was not for me.”

The one topic Daniels did not speak about? Plot details of the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
