Today, April 25th, This Day in Twilight Zone History and The Twilight Zone Encyclopedia celebrate the birthdays of actress Bonnie Beecher, who turns 77 today; and actor/director Paul Mazursky, born on this day in 1930.

Beecher co-starred in "Come Wander with Me" as soulful backwoods singer Mary Rachel, a woman with an amazing voice who charms rockabilly performer Floyd Burney (Gary Crosby). However, all is not what it seems, and Burney soon finds himself wandering around those woods, trying to stay out of The Twilight Zone.

Beecher did TV throughout the 1960s, including the role of Sylvia in the "Spectre of the Gun" episode of the original Star Trek, and later married performer Wavy Gravy, changing her name to Jahanara Romney.

Actress Bonnie Beecher portrayed the ethereal backwoods singer Mary Rachel in "Come Wander with Me."

Paul Mazursky (1930-2014), who later became a celebrated, Oscar-nominated feature filmmaker (Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, An Unmarried Woman), played an Army orderly in "The Purple Testament," an overbearing Mexican state police officer in "The Gift," and a devoted American Nazi in "He's Alive."

Before he took the director's chair, Paul Mazursky made a living as an actor, seen here as an American Nazi in "He's Alive."

Happy Birthday to two superbly talented Zoners!
