Paramount has released two new video featurettes for this summer's upcoming movie tentpole Terminator Genisys. While the first clip features an epic face-off between Arnold Schwarzenegger's Guardian Terminator and his younger self, the second is a fun featurette about the movie's new T-1000.
Titled "I’ve been waiting for you," the first clip features a classic scene from the original 1984 movie, where a fully nude T-800 walks to a group of punks to get the clothes off their backs (and I’m putting this mildly). However, in this version, Ahnold’s aging Guardian is there to stop his younger self from killing the punks. I bet you're feeling lucky now, punk. Check it out:
And here’s the original scene as it played out in James Cameron’s movie:
In the second clip, we have the newest incarnation of the deadly liquid metal Terminator, the T-1000, played by Byung-Hun Lee (G.I. JOE: Retaliation, RED 2). In the featurette, the actor talks about his take on the character, and we also have some cool new footage of the relentless assassin:
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future.
Directed by Alan Taylor, the movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons. Terminator Genisys will open in theaters on July 1.
