If you want to cut the cord and drop your cable or satellite service, it’s not terribly easy to keep up with all the great genre television out there. Well, Hulu and The CW just made a move that should make Flash and Arrow fans happy.
Hulu has been rolling out a live TV streaming service, and now it's added The CW to the line-up. The network is expected to join the line-up in “the coming months.” The shows will broadcast simultaneously with the live TV airing, meaning it’ll be a solid replacement for watching the network’s genre fare as it airs. If you need a refresher, The CW airs Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, The 100, iZombie, Supernatural, Riverdale, and a few others.
Hulu has been cutting deals with other studios and networks (i.e. Disney, ESPN, HGTV, etc.), but this makes a big “get” for sci-fi fans. The service also offers ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox (though only in certain markets). The service costs $39.99 (which is admittedly kind of high) and works on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Chromecast.
The streaming landscape is a bit of a mess these days, but this is one of the best options for The CW fans. The network also has an excellent, free-to-view app, though the shows aren’t available until the next morning. If you want to watch live, this should do the trick.
