Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are poised to take on Thanos when Avengers: Infinity War blasts onto the big screen in May 2018. While we can assume the Mad Titan will eventually find his way to Earth in his quest for the Infinity Stones, it also looks like the movie will be heading beyond our big blue planet.
In a recent interview with the good folks at Comic Book, Doctor Strange production designer extraordinaire Charles Wood — who also worked on Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron — revealed that Infinity War (his fifth MCU film) will feature "many, many, many new worlds." That's a lot of manys!
Here’s what Wood said about the challenges of designing new environments that have to feel real and lived in by the characters that exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Infinity War:
"Any time you turn that page on this script, you're kind of staggered, blown away, terrified by what's in front of you. I think rather like Doctor Strange, you'll find this film, it's not regurgatative, yeah? What I'm trying to say, is, there are many, many, many new worlds to see in this film."
Sounds like the film, which will feature pretty much every current superhero in the MCU and also introduce Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, will somehow be even bigger than we previously expected.
Avengers: Infinity War will open on May 4, 2018. Which worlds do you think we'll get to see in the new Avengers movie?
