The third season of Game of Thrones was definitely an ensemble effort, but who was the real star of the show?
Fans of the hit HBO fantasy series are still talking about all the big developments in the show this year, but what happens when we talk less about what happened and more about which characters got the most time in the spotlight? BuzzFeed's Kate Aurthur did the research for all of us fans, breaking down exactly how much time each character has on screen in the very varied and frequently perspective-jumping third season, and she found a clear screentime winner.
So, who came out on top? You might not be surprised to find that it was Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lanniser, who picked up one hour, ten minutes and 38 seconds of screentime this season. In second place, 20 minutes behind Dinklage, was Emilia Clark's Daenerys Targaryen, who picked up a little more than 50 minutes of screentime, followed closely by Richard Madden's Robb Stark and Kit Harington's Jon Snow, both of which managed nearly 47 minutes of exposure this season. Rouding out the top characters of the season are Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Jaime Lannister (with almost 45 minutes), Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister (with barely more than 44 minutes) and Maisie Williams' Arya Stark (with almost 44 minutes).
