Barry's mad at Kid Flash in first clip from the midseason premiere of The Flash

Looks like the Scarlet Speedster doesn’t do sidekicks in this first clip from the midseason premiere of the CW’s The Flash.

The sneak peek from the episode titled "Borrowing Problems From the Future" has been released almost a full month before the speedy series is set to return on Jan. 24. That’s still a good way away (and the wait is especially painful, since the midseason finale was three weeks ago) but at least it’s a tiny peek into what’s coming up next for Team Flash.

In the clip below, Flash and Kid Flash return from an obviously successful mission and Barry (Grant Gustin) gets mad at Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) for not following his orders (even though Wally saved Barry's life): “Wally, what was that. You’re supposed to be shadowing me. Observe and learn, that's it. That’s it! I'm sorry, Wally, but if you can't learn to follow orders, this deal between us, it’s over.” Geez, what a Debbie Downer.

To be fair, Barry is more than a little on edge after getting a peek into a possible future where Barry’s girlfriend and Wally’s sister Iris (Candice Patton) may end up being killed by Savitar in five months, and he doesn't want to see Wally hurt or worse. Or it could be that Barry may not be a fan of having another speedster steal his Fastest Man Alive thunder and getting high praises from everyone. In other news, it would also appear that H.G. (Tom Cavanagh) has managed to convince the gang to turn S.T.A.R. Labs into a museum …

The Flash returns on Jan. 24, followed by the midseason premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow at its new time and date.
