Are you as curious as we are about how Wonder Woman’s costume for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman vs. Superman flick will turn out? You're in luck, because the film’s costume designer just offered a couple of tantalizing hints about it.
During the pre-Oscars party, The Wrap got hold of Academy Award-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson (American Hustle) and asked him about his work on the Batman vs. Superman movie. "I designed the new Batsuit," Wilkinson said when he was asked whether he had a hand in making the new bat-costume for Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight.
Then he went on to speak about actress Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman costume. “I'm designing the new Wonder Woman costume, I'm tweaking the Superman suit, so yeah; I'm glad [to be hearing] good buzz about it."
Then Wilkinson was asked about his thought process about designing the Amazonian princess's costume for the upcoming, unofficial Justice League flick.
"It's a thrilling and slightly scary prospect of course. It's so important to get her right. She really deserves to be presented on-screen in her full glory, so what I do is look at the history of the character has been presented on the big-screen, small-screen, comic books, and graphic novels; we process it all. Then we kind of put that aside and work out what it right for our film, for the cinematic universe that our director Zack Snyder is putting together. We try to create a Wonder Woman relevant for today's audiences."
So, just how realistic will Princess Diana’s costume be -- as in how realistic will it be for the Princess of Themyscira to fight in costumes we’ve typically seen her in comic-book form? Wilkinson answered "Absolutely!" Then he added:
"I mean, you just have to look at the gladiators from ancient Rome, they did their thing … with the shield and everything. Yes, it works for Thor and 300, so let's see what happens."

But hey! As long as it's better than that atrocity (and we're being VERY kind) that was that Wonder Woman costume for David E. Kelley's failed Wonder Woman TV pilot, then we're already ecstatic about it! Surely, it couldn't get any worse than THAT, right?
So, how do you guys think Michael Wilkinson will modernize Wonder Woman’s costume for Batman vs. Superman? What do you think has to go, and what must be kept?
