Benicio Del Toro's Last Jedi character is a 'slicer', but what does that mean?

As The Last Jedi release draws nearer every single second, more details about the film are being released. #PorgNation just learned some new information about Benicio del Toro's character, DJ.

In an interview for Empire, del Toro released a few tidbits of information about his mysterious character, known only as DJ. It turns out DJ is an "underworld slicer," and even though a slicer sounds like someone who ... well, slices, in the Star Wars universe slicers are the equivalent of hackers. But even del Toro used a nice knife metaphor to describe his character.

"He’s like a knife: If you grab him by the blade, he’ll cut you. If you grab him by the handle, he can be very, very useful."

Sounds like DJ won't win any Nice Guy awards anytime soon. Del Toro goes on to get even more literary, comparing DJ to "something out of Dickens." Earlier this year we discovered the official Lucasfilm description of the character, which said he had "a sharp mind and expert skills." Again, sounds like a knife.

But for real, John Boyega called DJ "dodgy," so it looks like we might be diving into the less than legal areas of the galaxy in The Last Jedi. Even though we might feel like we've got DJ all figured out, there are still so many questions.

For all of the answers, we'll probably just have to wait until Star Wars: The Last Jedi flies into theaters on December 15. Until then, may the Force be with you.
