A new poster for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been released, offering up a tense new look at Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and his trademark sword.
If the trailers weren't enough of an indication, this poster definitely conjures up the look and feel of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy of films—if you didn't know any better, you'd almost think this was released as a LOTR character poster nearly a decade ago.
Jackson is definitely staying close to the Tolkien-based world he built with the previous trilogy, and we're curious to see just how similar the styles can be, considering the films were made nearly 10 years apart.

The Hobbit trilogy is expected to light up the box office for the next three years, with An Unexpected Journey opening on Dec. 14, 2012; The Desolation of Smaug opening Dec. 13, 2013; and There and Back Again opening July 18, 2014.
Are you excited for The Hobbit, or does it feel a little too similar to what we've seen before?
