Watch: We honor Falcon for Black History Month's 28 Days of Heroes

Sam Wilson is best known as Captain America's winged sidekick, but he's a whole lot more than that.

Yes, Sam started off his career as Falcon, and he has an awesome telepathic connection with a bird. But he's spent the past few years carrying Captain America's shield by himself, stepping in for Steve Rogers when he was no longer able to hold the mantle. Sam's tenure hasn't been easy, but he's shown that he's more than worthy of being Captain America. Heck, some might argue he's been doing a better job than Rogers himself. Oh, and he's also been a werewolf.

Falcon’s big-screen counterpart has also kicked a whole lot of butt the past few movies, taking a stand when all hell broke loose in Captain America: Civil War and fighting for what he believed in.
