It's time to start mentally preparing yourself for another mind-bending season of Black Mirror, because Season 5 has already begun shooting.
We just recovered from the news that Netflix ordered a fifth season of the often bleak sci-fi anthology series, and now we've got another update. According to Radio Times, on Tuesday at the Royal Television Society Awards in London, Black Mirror showrunner and creator Charlie Brooker revealed that Season 5 has begun shooting already.
“Season 5, we are filming one [episode] at the moment," said Brooker. "We are about to start filming another one imminently. I’m writing the next one and then it gets a bit more foggy.”
So it sounds like even though filming is in progress, there might still be a long way to go. And since Netflix has yet to announce when the next season will premiere, we should probably brace ourselves for a bit of a wait.
Luckily, you can binge-watch the first four seasons on Netflix in the meantime. Plus, there are all sorts of Black Mirror-esque moments happening in real life these days. Have you seen that creepy robot dog open a door? Yes, it gets harder to differentiate between reality and a Black Mirror episode daily.
What do you hope to see in Black Mirror Season 5? Ready to get rid of all your technology? Wait! Then how would you watch the show in the first place? Or read SYFY WIRE?! Just take some time to think about it.
