Though much of the focus has been on stalwart heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk up to this point, Black Widow is finally getting a little time to shine in the latest Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer.
The latest cut, which could be the last new trailer we see before the film’s release in a few weeks, recycles a fair bit of footage but also includes a few new scenes — most of which focus on Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. We get to see her hit the street in a motorcycle and chase down Cap’s shield to give him an assist while he’s in the middle of a fight. It’s a nifty piece of action, and we’ll be curious to see what role she takes in the wake of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Along with those tidbits, we also get some additional peeks at the massive action set pieces, including another look at that awesome shot of Thor using Cap’s shield to take out about a dozen Ultron robots. There’s also Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver running around, and the siblings get top billing with the rest of the heroes here.
As if being the sequel to a massive hit, while simultaneously being tasked with picking up the pieces from a half-dozen standalone films, wasn’t enough — Avengers: Age of Ultron will have its fair share of heavy lifting to do. But the first Avengers showed that director Joss Whedon can definitely handle the balancing act, and we can’t wait to see how this one comes together with so many disparate pieces scattered across the board.
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1.
