The first clip for Star Trek Beyond has finally made its way online ahead of the movie’s hotly anticipated premiere in three weeks.
The clip in question features Lt. Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Doctor McCoy (Karl Urban) in a love triangle. Nah, just kidding about that last part. No love in triangle in sight, you guys, but there might be a new bromance brewing on the horizon between Spock and Bones, because it looks like the two of them will spend a great deal of time stranded together in the new Star Trek movie.
In the clip, Bones tries to give out some sound (and logical) relationship advice to everyone’s favorite green-blooded Vulcan Starfleet officer, who seems to have broken it off with Uhura (or vice versa). Have a look:
I'm pretty sure in Star Trek: The Original Series, the good doctor (played by DeForest Kelley) would've said something along the lines of, “Dammit, man, I’m a doctor, not a relationship expert!” But eh, we’re in the Abramsverse now.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script co-written by Simon Pegg, Star Trek Beyond stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Sofia Boutella, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Idris Elba. The movie will warp into movie theaters July 22.
