Brad Pitt is going to star in a zombie film written by J. Michael Straczynski based on a book the son of Mel Brooks (Max). That sort of sounds like it might be the set up to a joke, but it's actually good news for Z fans.
According to MTV, Brooks, confirmed that Pitt is officially set to star in the big-screen adaptation of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.
Ignore that fact that Pitt may not actually be a zombie in the film (though we're hoping he will be). Or that the story itself doesn't have a traditional narrative arc (though Straczynski, who took the first stab at the script, apparently found a solution to this). Or that the story, due to its segmented nature, might actually have a dozen or more stars. It has zombies and that's good enough for us.
So when is this zombie apocalypse set to happen? Looks like the Mayans were right: The dead will rise and start the war in 2012.
