Hide your bananas, pets and small children. If you're not convinced by now these monkeys mean business, wait until you view the latest Rise of the Planet of the Apes trailer and tell us it's not the best of the bunch.
Prepare for battle! The new full-length U.K. trailer plots a much cleaner path to how it all began by focusing on Caesar's formative years and youthful "exuberance." It sneaks plenty of new footage of the City by the Bay and domestic tranquility that explodes into full-blown mayhem. One morning you're enjoying a nice ham-and-eggs breakfast with your family, next you're the charismatic leader of a monumental primate jailbreak and revolution. That's just how these things go, I guess.
Nice to see John Lithgow back in action in some pivotal suburbia moments early on and Tom Felton doing his best Draco sneer while squirting off the simians. This trailer showcases loads more awesome digital effects work from the folks at Peter Jackson's Weta lab, especially the amazing range of emotions they've so carefully captured. Andy Serkis' motion-capture acting rocks the treetops.
Lesson learned? Genetically engineered, hyperintelligent super-apes just don't make good household pets. Stupid humans. Get a ferret.
Any reservations left? Where will you stand when the riot starts?
Rise of the Planet of the Apes swings into theaters Aug. 5.
