For the last 10 years, the Call of Duty games have included zombie modes to give players a different combat experience on top of the primary gameplay. This year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going even further with zombies than ever before. Activision and Treyarch have announced that the game will launch with three separate zombie experiences, including two that appear to kick off a brand-new storyline.

IX is the start of the new zombie story, which introduces a team willing to transport their minds back to ancient Rome for answers about the zombie plague. And in the first trailer for IX, the team find themselves trapped in the gladiator pits as they face the challenge of their lives in the arena. Even though they may not be physically present, the team’s safety is not guaranteed.

The second mode, Voyage of Despair, continues the adventures of the team as they go on an even wilder quest to perform a heist on the Titanic. We’re assuming there has to be some kind of time-travel mechanic in play to let these operatives go on their missions. And they clearly aren’t alone. Events quickly spiral out of control, and by the end of the trailer, the iceberg may be the least of their problems.

Finally, Blood of the Dead will continue the Aether story from the previous Call of Duty zombie modes. Unlike the other videos, this one is just a teaser that sets the mood for the carnage to come.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12.
