We’ve seen quite a few Carrie Fisher tributes since the beloved actress passed away late last year, from the upcoming Looking for Leia documentary to Mark Hamill’s moving panel at Star Wars: Celebration in Orlando. But the most creative tribute to our princess and general may have come from a farmer in Indiana: a Princess Leia-shaped corn maze.
Jeremy Goebel, of Goebel Farms in Indiana, designed the corn maze himself. He said to the Courier Press, ““I’ve always been a Star Wars fan, and I just wanted to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher.” He actually was able to plant the maze in just 40 minutes, using Photoshop to design it and then inputting it into the tractor’s GPS. “It tells the planter to leave rows on and off as it drives down the field,” he said.
If you’re in the area and interested in visiting the maze, you can do so at 4745 W Boonville-New Harmony Road in Evansville. It’s only open on weekends, so check opening hours before you get on the road. It’s an unusual tribute to Fisher, for sure, but it’s nice to see how much her fans miss her.
