The Kick-Ass franchise is trying to ramp it up to 11 with the sequel, and six new character posters are a great introduction to the expanded cast of heroes and villains out to kick and save Kick-Ass’ ass.
The sequel picks up with Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) and Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylot-Johnson) honing their superhero skills and teaming up with a whole new group of everyday heroes. But they’ll have their hands full with the Mother F--ker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who is trying his best to become the world’s first supervillain.
After establishing the Kick-Ass universe with the cult-hit original, the sequel looks to introduce everything from a government crackdown on superheroes to bigger action set pieces to tie it all together. The cast is a lot bigger, though acclaimed co-star Jim Carrey’s Colonel Stars and Stripes is noticeably absent in the poster set. Oh well, at least we get Black Death!
The sequel opens Aug. 16. Do you plan on checking it out?
