WARNING: Spoilers for Bates Motel below.

With the return of Bates Motel soon upon us, A&E has finally unveiled the first teaser for the show's upcoming fifth and final season. The sneak peek below shows what Norman's been up to for the past two years since the dramatic events of Season 4, and it's pretty chilling to behold. Like, literally. Especially that last shot, but I'm getting ahead of myself ...

Season 5 will wrap up Norman's (Freddie Highmore) descent into full-on psycho mode following the *SPOILER ALERT* death of his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) and feature the arrival of Rihanna in the role of Marion Crane. The character, who met her untimely demise in that iconic shower scene, was originally played by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.

The show's final season will introduce The Walking Dead alum Austin Nichols in the recurring role of Sam Loomis, described (as per Deadline) as "a mysterious and charismatic newcomer to White Pine Bay who quickly antagonizes Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) when he tries to involve the Bates Motel's owner in his web of lies."

Isabelle McNally (House of Cards) will play his wife, Madeleine Loomis, while Brooke Smith (Grey's Anatomy, Ray Donovan) will play Sheriff Dana Greene, who becomes "entangled in Norman's life, causing a chain of events that could blow the lid off Norman’s secret life." Not only will we see some fresh new faces, but Caleb Calhoun (Kenny Johnson) and Chick Hogan (Ryan Hurst) will also return to town with their own agenda. Bates Motel returns for its fifth and final season on Feb. 20 at 10:00 p.m. on A&E.

The fifth and final season picks up almost two years after Norma's (Vera Farmiga) death and finds Norman (Freddie Highmore) living a double life. Publicly a happy and well-adjusted member of the White Pine Bay community, Norman struggles at home, where his violent blackouts are increasing as 'Mother' threatens to take him over completely. Meanwhile, Dylan (Max Thieriot) and Emma (Olivia Cooke), now with lives of their own, soon find themselves drawn back into Norman's insanity, while a vengeful Romero (Nestor Carbonell) hungers for a chance to destroy his stepson.
