Deadpool is hitting theaters on Feb. 12, 2016, which gives us a little over a month and a half to look for and/or avoid spoilers. But for those who want to know what they’re spending $15 (more or less) on, there’s another piece to the puzzle that is the upcoming Deadpool.
Although IMDb has given us a bare-bones basic tale of vengeance …
DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
… with the new TV trailer, below, we get a little more to the story.
Deadpool doesn’t just spend his time hunting down enemies. It seems he has to rescue his girlfriend Vanessa Carlysle, aka Copycat, the woman he so tenderly refers to as “his future baby-mama.”
That’s probably as heartfelt as he gets. Deadpool, the Merc With a Mouth, tends to express himself with crude yet hilarious language. (For a look at even more hilarious crudity, check out the red-band trailer.) Luckily for us future audience members, that's a specialty of screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the fabulous Zombieland.
Also, check out Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus, the X-Men character who will be joining Deadpool, quite possibly to keep him in line.
